She goes flying sideways into the alley wall as Ayato rushes and hits her with the combined force of his double kagune. Touka spares a glance over her shoulder back towards him, her one visible eye a burning crimson, and yells, Hide yells and covers his face as errant shards that made it past Touka rain down around him, but ultimately miss. He jumps away as well, gaining distance, and his wings crystallize and he launches razor sharp shards at her, catching her in the calf before she ducks behind the sheild of her kagune. She rushes him, tackling him bodily against the wall with an impact Hide feels through the ground.Īyato yells, and his kagune sweeps in to stab her in the sides, but she's already jumping back and deflecting. It takes his injured brain a moment to connect the dots, and when he does, he blurts out,Īyato Kirishima takes his eyes off his sister to glance at Hide for a millisecond, and that's all that Touka needs.

White flares up like sunbursts all along the surface and dissipates in the air, and the bright light of it is interlaced with darker seas of blue-black, moving in waves throughout. Hide watches in fascination as it flickers like flames, blood red at the base but melting into a deep, dark blue at the tips. Her back is to him, presenting him with a full view of the intense splash of color branching out of her back like a single wing. That hair is unmistakable, even from this angle. He hears a commotion happening somewhere in front of him. He doesn't know exactly how long it takes the world to stop spinning, but he does know he should probably be dead by now. He lets himself lie on the freezing ground and process the shock for a few moments. His momentum carries him forward a good few feet and he hits his head somewhere along the fall, just for good measure. He doesn't even have time to cry out before he tumbles over the handlebars and lands sharply on his hands, scraping them all to hell.
